There are easier ways to photograph skincare.
We chose the Pacific Ocean, a redwood forest, an old hotel in North Beach, and the mineral waters of Calistoga.
Because Oliva Flora has never really been about staying put.
THE PACIFIC
We started in Santa Cruz, where California meets the ocean with absolutely no subtlety.
Cold air. Salt water. Fog. Sand. The kind of Pacific morning that wakes up every sense before you’ve even had coffee.
We took Oliva Flora onto the beach and under the pier, putting our bottles down in the sand, on weathered wood, wherever they felt at home.
And then the ocean decided it wanted in.
A wave came farther than expected and swept our body oils straight out into the Pacific. We scrambled. We laughed. We recovered them.
Apparently, Get Free was not meant to be taken quite that literally.
But there was something perfect about it. These aren't products meant to exist untouched on a pristine bathroom shelf. They’re made for actual life — salt, sand, road trips, hotel rooms, mornings that turn into adventures.
INTO THE REDWOODS
From the force of the ocean, we moved into the stillness of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Everything changes beneath the redwoods.
The light filters in differently. The air feels cooler. The noise disappears. Giant trees make everything else feel temporarily less important.
It was a reminder of something fundamental to Oliva Flora: nature doesn't need much help being extraordinary.
Neither does your skin.
Our approach has always been to leave out what doesn't need to be there. No unnecessary fluff. No ingredients simply taking up space. Just purposeful, active ingredients chosen for what they bring to the formula.

NORTH BEACH
Then San Francisco changed the energy completely.
North Beach is layered, imperfect and gloriously alive. Old neon. Sidewalk cafés. Beat history. Chinatown just down the hill. Columbus Avenue running toward the Transamerica Pyramid. Places that have been there forever sitting beside whatever arrived yesterday.
And tucked into it all: Hotel Boheme.
The orange walls. Iron bed. Gingham. Old telephones. Books left open on rumpled sheets. Bathrooms that practically demanded jars of face cream on the sink.
Nothing overly staged. Nothing too precious.
We photographed Oliva Flora as though it belonged to someone staying there — because that's exactly the point.

Our final stop took us north, where California slows down again.
Calistoga has its own rhythm: vineyards, palms, old buildings, mineral springs, dry heat and that slightly eccentric mix of rustic and luxurious that Napa Valley does so well.
At Indian Springs, the story came full circle.
Water again — but this time quiet.
Robes. Mineral baths. Warm light. Skin. Rest.
